Oskar Castañeda
Piano
Motivated by a lifelong passion for the arts, Oskar Castañeda began studying classical piano at the age of six in Southern California. His musical foundation was rooted primarily in the classical tradition under the guidance of pianist Eric Le Van, where he developed strong technical discipline, musical sensitivity, and a deep appreciation for the standard repertoire. At thirteen, Oskar was accepted into the Orange County School of the Arts, a rigorous performing arts middle and high school, where he spent six years studying both classical and jazz piano.
After graduating from OCSA, Oskar moved to Northern California and earned his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from California State University, Sacramento. He is currently preparing for graduate studies and plans to pursue a master’s degree in collaborative piano, with a strong interest in chamber music.
Alongside his performance career, Oskar is deeply passionate about music education. He has over eight years of teaching experience, working with students of all ages and skill levels. Oskar values building meaningful connections with his students and believes that every individual is capable of learning and appreciating music. His goal is to instill a lifelong love for music, whether or not his students choose to pursue it professionally.
Oskar provides a high-quality, well-rounded musical education, with an emphasis on piano technique, musicianship, music theory, music history, ear training, and creative exploration. Each lesson is thoughtfully tailored to the individual student, ensuring personalized instruction that supports both musical growth and personal expression.
